Questions about Books & Series
Updated 7/2011 - Is the Red Rock Pass series over?
The current arc of the Red Rock series is done. Cry Sanctuary, Sanctuary Lost, Sanctuary's Price, and Sanctuary Unbound stand together as one complete arc (which will eventually be in print as two books.)
Though we'd like to revisit the universe at some point, at the moment our schedule is pretty set. We'll see what the future brings!
How are the Building Sanctuary books related to the Red Rock Pass books?
They are prequel novellas. You can read the Building Sanctuary books without having read Red Rock Pass, and vice versa. Some characters show up in both (because they are supernatural and VERY long lived!) but none of the storylines are dependent on one another.
Will there be any more Last Call books?
At the moment we have no plans to write any more in our Last Call New York series. The authors at Changeling Press, however, are writing a spin-off series with the same concept set at a Last Call bar in Europe, so if you like the short, hot steamy reads, you can check those out.
Is there a sequel to Honor Bound?
Not right now. It's a free read in a world unrelated to any of our existing series, and maybe some day we'll write something more there.
Can I buy your books at my local bookstore?
Yes and no. We're small press, digitally focused authors at the moment, and while we do have quite a few books coming out in print over the next few years (six, if I counted correctly) small press books don't always get shelf space in crowded bookstores.
If you want any of our current releases from the local bookstore, the best thing to do is ask a bookseller if they can order a copy for you. Since I worked many years as a bookseller, I can tell you the most foolproof way is to bring the ISBN. I keep those as much up to date as possible on our Printable Book List page.
Can I read your books on my Kindle/Nook/iPhone/Sony Reader?
Yes! Many of our books are available for easy Kindle or Nook purchase directly on the Barnes & Noble or Amazon websites. You can also buy books directly from a publisher, All Romance Ebooks or Fictionwise and load it onto your device. Compatible formats include:
- Kindle: Mobipocket
- Sony Readers: PDF
- Nook: ePub & PDF
Updated 4/2011 - Will Andrew/Marcus/Julio have a Southern Arcana book?
Andrew is the hero of book #4, Cipher, due out in September 2011. Marcus and Julio - yes, they have stories. Yes, we plan to tell them in the next couple years. More information would be spoiling. ;)
Will there be any more Down & Dirty/Temple of Luna books?
As it stands, no. Down & Dirty was meant to be a trilogy and the Temple of Luna stories had four heroines planned.
Updated 12/15/2010 - When is the next Carnal Powers book coming out?
The Carnal Powers series is on hiatus indefinitely. When we know something different, we'll let you know!
Questions about us
Who writes what? Does one of you write & one come up with the ideas? Or does someone write all the heroes?
We come up with ideas, plots and characters pretty equally. We do divide the characters up so that one person is totally responsible for each character's consistent characterization and backstory, but that tends to be based more on who is more qualified to write the character than anything else. (Donna writes doctors & Bree writes techies, for one!)
For a more in depth answer, check out the Officially Official "How Do You Guys Write Anyway?" post.
Do you two really know each other? Like really in real life really?
Yes. We were co-workers, friends, roommates and maids of honor long before we were writing partners. We met our husbands at a comic book store in 2001 and married them in 2004 and now live about 5 miles away from each other. We're like the worlds dorkiest romantic comedy series, only with fewer Big Misunderstandings.
Who's your agent?
We don't have one. At the moment, we're primarily interested in working with digitally focused presses, where an agent is not always necessary. (Which is not to say we don't strongly advise that anyone signing any sort of contract, no matter how small the publisher, seek legal advice. Make sure you understand what rights you're giving away!)
